Popeye Original Cartoon was about a man's love of canned spinach. The best way to defeat the ghosts is not to respond to them or include them. If they think our conversations, daily activities, or even social media posts are about them, they are wrong. They are sitting there stalking us and causing problems while we have completely moved on, living and loving our own lives. We can’t let them steal our fun from one year to the next. If they don't get the message, we just have to remove them and keep on walking forward. 

An "active abuser" means someone currently and consistently using a pattern of controlling behaviors (physical, emotional, financial, sexual, technological (Cyber) or witchcraft to dominate an ex- partner or rival, often escalating over time, and typically involves tactics like isolation, intimidation, gaslighting, and threats, all to maintain power and control within a relationship. It's about ongoing actions, not a one-time event, where the abuser actively exerts power over their victim. Most likely the abuser is a hostile rival or an ex - who won't go away, that's why it's best to ignore them and keep moving on. 

Stalking penalties vary by state but are serious, often classified as misdemeanors or felonies, and can carry jail time (from months to years) and significant fines (thousands of dollars). Penalties increase for repeat offenses or violations of protective orders, with some cases leading to felony charges with higher sentences, and often include mandated counseling or probation.
